Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Psychologist for Bourke Public School. The role focuses on counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning and wellbeing, with opportunities to work across primary and high school ages.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team with supervision, CPD opportunities and support for registration maintenance with the Psychology Board of Australia. Travel and incentives apply.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (general or provisional).
• WWCC clearance issued in NSW prior to employment.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel between work sites.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal Education Policy and DEI strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments.
• Collaborate with principals, staff and external agencies to support students.
• Contribute to social, emotional and academic development of students.
• Develop appropriate school-based support for students with diverse needs.
• Respond with a team to assist schools during serious incidents.
• Refer students and families to external services when needed.
