Job summary

The University of Western Australia invites applications for a part-time (0.2–0.4 FTE) Senior Lecturer in Rural Medical Education based in Derby, Western Australia. The role combines clinical practice, medical education and academic leadership within a rural and remote setting.

Lead and support rural medical teaching across multiple sites, with a focus on student success, community impact, and workforce development for regional WA. Applicants should be registered or eligible with AHPRA.

Qualifications

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated experience teaching, supervising or mentoring medical students, junior doctors and/or registrars.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver innovative medical education, clinical teaching, mentoring and student support across rural and remote clinical settings.
• Coordinate high-quality clinical learning experiences by partnering with health services, rural practitioners, community organisations and key stakeholders to enhance student outcomes.
• Contribute to rural health research, curriculum development and the advancement of rural training pathways.
