Job summary

UNSW Rural (Port Macquarie campus) is seeking a Technical Officer to provide high-level technical support for teaching and research laboratories, with a focus on WHS compliance and safe operation. The role collaborates with academic staff, demonstrators and students to ensure efficient, safe practicals and successful learning outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have Biomedical Sciences knowledge, strong organisational skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge in Biomedical Sciences with lab teaching experience.
• Ability to maintain safe and compliant teaching labs (WHS).
• Provide technical support to students and staff during practicals.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical support in teaching and research laboratories.
• Ensure labs run efficiently and safely for teaching and learning.
• Train and troubleshoot equipment; manage inventory and setup for practicals.
• Support staff and students in lab activities and course delivery.
