Job summary

Western NSW Local Health District is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer – GP Anaesthetics for Lachlan Health Service (Parkes and Forbes). You will provide on-call anaesthetic services, contribute to safe patient care, and work within a dynamic rural team delivering essential surgical and obstetric services.

The role offers scope for academic or teaching opportunities with regional universities and a supportive work environment, with up to 40 hours per week and a fee-for-service/sessional

Qualifications

• Unconditional General and/or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the RACGP and/or Fellowship of the ACRRM and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
• Significant GP Anaesthetics skills and experience with RGA and CPD in line with RGA requirements.
• Minimum three years post-graduate clinical experience; rural medicine experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of clinical quality and patient safety, NSW Health policies and current practice guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred anaesthetic care in Lachlan Health Service (Parkes and Forbes).
• Deliver on-call anaesthetic services and support surgical and obstetric care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and align with NSW Health CORE values.
• Contribute to ongoing learning and quality improvement within the service.
