Job summary

NSW Health in Broken Hill is seeking a Permanent Full Time Social Worker Level 3 to deliver therapeutic services for children and young people aged 10–17 who have sexually harmed others, including families. The role includes risk assessment, safety planning and interagency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Social Work or Psychology. Eligibility for membership of AASW or registration as a psychologist.
• Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience as a social worker or psychologist.
• Ability toCounsel individuals and families in child sexual assault, trauma, violence and abuse.
• Understanding intergenerational trauma and family-focused intervention in child protection contexts.
• Ability to engage with Aboriginal communities in culturally competent ways.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic services to children and young people aged 10–17 who have sexually harmed another person.
• Offer consultation and guidance to interagency partners on risk assessment and safety planning.
• Deliver community education and development activities to raise awareness of child sexual assault and reply to community needs.
