Job Summary

Lead strength and conditioning and athletic development for Vikings senior and pathway players, including girls and boys progressing from school rugby. Design and evaluate off-season, pre-season and in-season programmes, individual development plans, physical testing and workload monitoring. Coordinate supplementary coaches and work with physiotherapists and team coaches on injury management, reconditioning and player availability. Build school and academy links and support transitions into senior rugby. Maintain performance records and contribute to planning and reporting across the club.

Level 6. Leads a defined club-wide athletic-performance service for senior and pathway rugby players, including programme design, testing, monitoring, reconditioning, individual development plans and coordination of supplementary coaches, students and volunteers. The role also coordinates school engagement and player transition but works within the Head Coach-led rugby framework, with delegated rather than organisation-wide strategic authority. Employer qualifications: relevant S&C qualifications or equivalent demonstrated capability are essential; a relevant sport-science degree is desirable rather than essential. This academic expectation is below the usual IUSCA Level 6 requirement.
