Job summary

GemLife is seeking an experienced Roof Plumber to join our construction team at the Burnett Heads project in Queensland. You’ll undertake roof plumbing works including gutters, downpipes, drainage, flashings and fascia, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will install gutters, downpipes, fascia, flashings and roof drainage systems, measure and fit materials, and coordinate with Site Managers and other trades to keep projects progressing.

Qualifications

• Experience installing gutters, downpipes, fascia and flashings is desirable.
• Strong measuring, cutting and fitting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain roof plumbing systems for residential and commercial buildings.
• Fit and secure gutters, downpipes, fascia covers, flashings and roof drainage components.
• Measure, cut and shape roofing materials to required specifications.
• Interpret plans and site drawings to complete roof plumbing work accurately.
• Inspect roof drainage systems and identify leaks, blockages or defects.
• Carry out repairs and replacements to damaged roof plumbing components.

A day in the life...

You’ll install gutters, downpipes, fascia, flashings and roof drainage systems, measure and fit materials and complete works in line with plans and specifications. You’ll identify and rectify leaks or defects, maintain your tools and equipment and work closely with Site Managers, supervisors and other trades to keep projects progressing.

Job Duties

• Install and maintain roof plumbing systems for residential and commercial buildings.
• Fit and secure gutters, downpipes, fascia covers, flashings and other roof drainage components.
• Measure, cut and shape roofing materials to required specifications.
• Interpret plans, drawings and site specifications to complete roof plumbing work accurately.

• Carry out repairs and replacements to damaged roof plumbing components.
• Ensure roof water drainage systems are installed correctly and operate efficiently.
• Use hand and power tools to complete roof plumbing installations and maintenance tasks.
• Follow relevant building codes, Australian Standards and workplace safety requirements.
• Work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment and procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors, contractors and other trades to meet project requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship while ensuring work is completed within project timeframes.

What you'll bring

Required Skills

• Certificate III in Roof Plumbing or equivalent.
• Strong roof plumbing installation and maintenance experience.
• Experience installing gutters, downpipes, fascia and flashings.
• Knowledge of roof drainage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong measuring, cutting and fitting skills.
• Experience working safely at heights.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and Australian Standards.
• Leak detection and fault-finding skills.
• Strong understanding of site safety and fall protection requirements.
• Quality workmanship, reliability and good teamwork.
• White Card.
