Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Works Supervisor to lead multidisciplinary road maintenance and construction teams, planning delivery, allocating resources and overseeing crews to meet time, cost and quality requirements.

You will implement TfNSW WHS, Environmental and Quality Management Systems across site activities, supervise specialist contractors and liaise with stakeholders to deliver safe, on‑time outcomes across the Hume region. This fixed-term full-time role ends 25 November 2027.

Qualifications

• You have demonstrated experience of civil construction and maintenance works.
• You have demonstrated ability to analyse project, construction and contract documentation.
• You have experience in leading crews to deliver road maintenance and minor works projects supervising direct control and contractor teams.
• You are an effective communicator with proven interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and are able to successfully manage crews to operate in a harmonious, productive and well-planned manner.
• You have the ability to manage the allocation of resources to meet work objectives and monitor outputs to ensure resources are utilised productively and efficiently.
• Your ability to work collaboratively, lead by example and influence others will inspire crews to be innovative and stride to achieve the best outcome for Transport for NSW and its customers.
• You hold a current Construction Industry White Card and a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver’s licence.
• You possess trade qualifications and/or equivalent experience and current licences/tickets in a field relevant to Agency works.

Responsibilities

• Managing team and individual performance while providing coaching, guidance, and training.
• Tracking daily operations, including compliance, work health and safety (WHS), and environmental requirements.
• Coordinating the collection, analysis, and reporting of performance and safety measures to manage project risks.
• Implementing TfNSW WHS, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems across site activities.
• Supervising and managing specialist contractors while directing internal and contract resources undertaking construction work.
• Ensuring safe work processes and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
