Job summary

Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) is looking for a Road Train Driver to join Canobie Station in the Gulf Region. The role involves transporting cattle on and off the station, adhering to animal welfare standards, and performing daily vehicle checks.

The successful candidate will hold a current MC driver’s license, be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and have strong communication skills to complete required paperwork and coordinate with the team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Current MC driver’s license.
• Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport cattle on and off the station.
• Load cattle to appropriate numbers.
• Follow fatigue management guidelines.
• Complete paperwork (e.g., Livestock cartage book).
• Conduct property observations while driving.
• Carry out road train maintenance and pre-start checks.
• Maintain road train serviceability and roadworthiness.
• Monitor fuel and oil usage and log in fuel logs.
• Monitor spare parts usage.

We are looking for a Road Train Driver to join our team in Canobie. Canobie Station is located 200km north of Cloncurry, in the Gulf Region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transportation of cattle as directed both on and off the station
• Handle cattle in line with AACo animal welfare standards.
• Be responsible for loading cattle at appropriate numbers.
• Adhere to current fatigue management guidelines.
• Complete all paperwork as required e.g. Livestock cartage book etc.
• Conduct general property observations while driving
• Carry out road train maintenance - Carry out a pre-start check daily or before each trip taken.
• Maintain road train serviceability and ensure the vehicle is in roadworthy condition.
• Monitor fuel and oil usage and record fuel in fuel log sheets
• Monitor spare part usage

Required Skills & Experience:
