Job summary

Carrathool Shire Council in New South Wales is seeking a Roads Maintenance worker to support the upkeep and safety of roads and bridges. You will operate and maintain plant and equipment and assist with road repairs to ensure safe, reliable infrastructure for the public.

The role requires a White Card, experience with plant operation, and a focus on workplace safety and traffic control on public works sites. You will work in a team environment with supervision as needed.

Qualifications

General Induction for Construction certificate (Whitecard) required.
Experience operating and maintaining plant such as tractors, rollers, backhoes, trucks and attachments.
Experience in maintenance labouring and/or civil construction activities.
Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.
Awareness of workplace safety requirements.
Understanding of traffic control and public safety procedures.
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
Ability to apply traffic safety standards on public works sites.

Responsibilities

Support the maintenance and safety of Council’s roads and bridges.
Operate and maintain plant and equipment used on worksites.
Ensure compliance with traffic safety standards and regulations.
Undertake road repairs to provide safe and reliable infrastructure for public use.
