Job summary

Lismore Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its ICU team on a contract basis. This opportunity runs through to 25 October 2026 and is based at the hospital in Lismore, NSW.

You will work in a critical care environment supporting a dedicated team in the Northern Rivers region. Preferred candidates hold current AHPRA registration, ICU experience, ventilator competency, ALS certification, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated ICU nursing experience.
• Ventilator competency and hands-on experience managing mechanically ventilated patients.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• ICU nursing in a contract role, ASAP through to 25 October 2026.
• Work with ventilator-dependent patients in a high-acuity setting.
• Based in Lismore, NSW, surrounded by the lush countryside and rainforest of the Northern Rivers.

Preferred Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification with current AHPRA registration

• Additional certifications in intensive care or emergency nursing
