Job summary

Lismore Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Coronary Care Unit on a contract basis. This time-limited opportunity runs from now through to 25 October 2026, based at the hospital in Lismore, NSW.

Deliver specialist cardiac nursing care in a supportive clinical environment within the Northern Rivers region. The role requires current AHPRA registration, CCU experience, and strong clinical assessment and monitoring skills in cardiac patients.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA is required.
• Experience in Coronary Care Unit or high-acuity cardiac environment preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and monitoring skills for cardiac patients required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist CCU nursing care and direct patient care.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting.
• Apply cardiac medications, equipment knowledge and emergency protocols.

Preferred Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Demonstrated experience working in a Coronary Care Unit or similar high-acuity cardiac environment
• Strong clinical assessment and monitoring skills specific to cardiac patients
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting
• Sound knowledge of cardiac medications, equipment, and emergency protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification with current AHPRA registration
• Post-graduate qualification or certification in Cardiac or Critical Care Nursing
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent cardiac emergency certification
