Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Staff Nurse for our Dialysis Center in Australia. You will deliver life-sustaining dialysis treatments, work with a multidisciplinary team, and provide compassionate patient care in a haemodialysis setting.

The role emphasizes patient-centred care, privacy, and education for patients and staff. Requirements include registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate, with nephrology nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA.
• Current practising certificate.
• Experience in nephrology nursing or renal haemodialysis would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dialysis treatments and monitor patient progress in the haemodialysis setting.
• Provide patient-centred care aligned with organizational standards and privacy requirements.
• Educate patients, families and colleagues and participate in multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Maintain accurate patient records and use the Therapy Data Management System (TDMS).
• Contribute to quality improvement and incident reporting.

What you'll achieve

As a Registered Nurse, you'll deliver life-sustaining care to patients with chronic kidney disease.
You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, provide dialysis treatments, monitor patient progress, and offer compassionate support that makes a real difference every single day. You are responsible to deliver patient centered care within the haemodialysis setting in accordance with organizational core values / standards of practice and codes and guidelines as set out by APHRA. To provide support to the Management Team by participating in the clinical, management, education and quality activities of staff and patients within the clinic.

You will:

• Participates in the design, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care within the haemodialysis clinical setting
• Protects the rights of patients by adhering to Privacy Principles and providing an excellent standard of care.
• Responsible for own professional development and provides education to colleagues, patients and visitors.
• Ensures/promotes a safe, secure and healthy working environment to staff and a comfortable, safe environment for visitors and patients as detailed in the Workplace Health and Safety policy (FMEAU-28).
• Actively participates in the quality improvement process by reporting all incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement.
• Completes clinical and mandatory competencies annually
• Performs defined management functions when required.
• Maintains accurate patient information in medical records, including Therapy Data Management System (TDMS) and abides by confidentiality and Privacy Policy.

Requirements

• Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
• Current practising certificate.
• Nephrology nursing theory and practice.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and expertise (or working towards) in nephrology nursing.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to operate within multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated organizational, decision-making and problem solving skills, combined with the ability to be self-directed.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform staff and patient education.
• Knowledge of nursing, nephrology and other professional issues which impact on nursing practice within the specialty.
• Proven experience working within a Renal/Haemodialysis environment, with demonstrated knowledge of dialysis treatment processes and renal patient care.
• Computer literacy.
