Job summary

Braidwood Multi-Purpose Service in rural NSW is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead its Emergency Department on an 11-week contract from 27 September to 14 December 2026. You’ll manage patient care from triage through discharge and may support the aged care unit during quieter periods.

You’ll bring ED leadership, ALS, cannulation and venepuncture skills, with a private vehicle essential for travel to Braidwood.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Emergency department nursing experience with triage competency.
• Rural or small-site healthcare experience.
• ALS certification.
• Ability to work independently and lead a small team.

Responsibilities

• Lead emergency department operations in a small rural facility.

Job description

Braidwood Multi-Purpose Service is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department on a 11-week contract from 27 September to 14 December 2026. This is a hands-on role in a small, rural facility where you'll take charge of the ED, managing patient care from triage through to discharge. You'll bring emergency nursing expertise to a close-knit team and may also provide support to the residential aged care unit during quieter periods. A private vehicle is essential for this Braidwood, NSW-based position.

Preferred Requirements

• Solid emergency department experience with proven triage competency
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification

• Own private vehicle for commuting to Braidwood

Preferred Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrated experience in emergency nursing practice
