About the role:

As the Risk Transformation Manager at Australian Retirement Trust, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering key risk transformation initiatives across the organisation. Reporting to the General Manager – Risk Transformation, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to uplift risk maturity, embed best practice frameworks, and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of risk transformation initiatives aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Prepare reports and make recommendations to support risk transformation activities.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagements to drive change.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design and implement refreshed risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance on risk management issues.
  • Direct continuous improvement activities to increase capability and efficiency.
  • Lead change management activities and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Gather and integrate feedback from stakeholders to inform risk transformation efforts.
  • Ensure updated practices and processes meet best practice and regulatory requirements.

About you:

You will be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them.

  • Deep experience in risk management, with a strong background in risk transformation within regulated financial services (ideally superannuation).
  • Proven ability to support and lead change management or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of audit standards, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and respond to emerging risks.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
  • Analytical mindset with strong decision-making skills and the ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
  • Commercially savvy, understanding the balance between risk and opportunity to support sustainable outcomes.
  • Curious, adaptable and open-minded, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the team and open to the perspectives of others.
