Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education invites applications for a Risk, Compliance and Work, Health & Safety Officer at St Joseph's Primary School, Corinda. This unique dual-role offers two days per week: one day on Risk & Compliance and one day on WHS, contributing to a safe, compliant learning environment for students and staff. Location: St Joseph's Primary School CORINDA.

Start date: 19/01/2027. Work hours: 12 hours per week across 2 days.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, maintaining, and improving operational systems and processes.
• Strong understanding of legislation, regulations, and guidelines in a school setting.
• Ability to communicate policy updates clearly to diverse groups.
• Experience managing and reporting on risk and compliance tasks.
• Skilled in advising and facilitating risk assessments for events.
• Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma in a related field
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety Certificate

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the development, maintenance and operations of systems and resources and recommending improvements.
• Developing and interpreting legislation, regulations, procedures and other guideline material relating to operations within the school.
• Provide advice on the implementation of WHSMS policies and procedures within the school
• Delivering and advising staff, students, and the school community on policy updates and publishing via appropriate channels.
• Facilitating the completion and report on risk and compliance tasks through the appropriate avenues
• Advising and facilitating the conduct of risk assessments by responsible staff members for school events.

Summary

Make a meaningful contribution to the safety, wellbeing and effective operation of St Joseph's Primary School, Corinda, in this unique dual-role opportunity. Working two days per week, with one day dedicated to Risk and Compliance and one day to Work Health & Safety, you'll help foster a safe, compliant and supportive environment for students, staff and the wider school community.

• Salary: $39.44 - $41.35 + $48.70 First Aid allowance per week + 12.75% super (School Salary Scale)

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

• For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
