Job summary

Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking a Risk and Compliance Officer to join the People and Culture team on a temporary full-time basis. The role focuses on analysing risk, OHS and compliance data, and translating findings into actionable insights for leadership.

You will develop policies and frameworks, maintain risk registers and reporting, and collaborate with managers across the organisation to strengthen compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in business, risk management or compliance.
• Experience in risk management, compliance and local government.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret complex risk, OHS and compliance data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop high-quality reports, dashboards and presentations for management and committees.
• Draft, review and implement policies, procedures and frameworks to support compliance.
• Coordinate corporate risk registers, compliance records and reporting requirements.
• Support internal audits and monitoring of corrective actions.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and provide practical risk/compliance guidance.
• Support Child Safe Standards compliance program and continuous improvement.
