Overview

Join Our Team:

Business Banking (BB) provides a diverse range of services to businesses of all sizes, from small enterprises to large corporations, regional and agribusiness customers, as well as stockbroking and margin lending services for retail customers.

About BB Line 1 Risk Chapter:

Our BB Line 1 Risk Chapter collaborates closely with Product teams to help them achieve their strategic objectives, with a focus on achieving NPS +30. In this role, you will support the Business Banking Payments teams in executing their end-to-end responsibility to manage and oversight risks across their products and services to deliver good customer outcomes. Your responsibilities include identifying, understanding, and effectively managing risks to keep the business in operating within the BB risk appetite.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide risk support to the Payment Pricing & Billing Centre of Excellence on resolving critical pricing and billing risk issues.

  • Cultivate a proactive risk culture through collaboration with business partners and Line 2 teams, shaping the optimal approach to risk and change matters.

  • Design and implementation of controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes. This includes proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the design and resiliency of business processes and controls through continuous improvements.

  • Uphold data quality in the risk management system (RisklnSite) and provide essential support to senior business leaders in governing, overseeing, and managing risks.

  • Partner with the business to manage risks, compliance obligations and operations within risk appetite, including ensuring risks (including emerging risks) are profiled and captured in the Risk Profile (RCSA) and updated when risk trigger events occur.

  • Lead risk management activities in change initiatives, contributing to the achievement of the group and line of businesses strategic objectives.

  • Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents (including issues identified through audits and external processes), and implementing control improvements to address the identified gaps.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

What we are looking for
  • Risk and Compliance mindset: sound to advance knowledge and experience in Operational Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks; ability to analyse/identify risks and recommend appropriate actions; and knowledge of the regulatory environment.

  • Effective stakeholder management skills: ability to build relationships and manage a large group of stakeholders with conflicting priorities; ability to partner with the business to understand risk as an enabler for growth and success.

  • Business Acumen: understanding of the business and its strategic priorities.

  • Strong communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different teams and different levels of seniority.

  • Knowledge of Payments product and operational processes highly desirable.
