Job summary

Lavalla Catholic College in Traralgon, Victoria invites applications for an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager. This ongoing, full‑time role entails leading risk management, policy governance, WHS, return‑to‑work and assurance frameworks across the College.

The position provides strategic and operational guidance to College leadership, promoting a proactive culture of risk awareness, safety and continuous improvement, aligned with Marist Schools Australia requirements and College policies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated qualifications in risk and compliance management.
• Experience implementing or maintaining compliance frameworks.
• Experience in governance, risk, assurance and OHS.
• Experience in a contemporary education environment desirable.
• Experience as a Return-to-Work Coordinator in Australian workplaces.
• Must hold Working with Children Check and National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate risk management, compliance, policy governance and WHS across the College.
• Provide strategic and operational advice to College leadership on risk and compliance.
• Develop and maintain risk registers, assurance frameworks and return‑to‑work processes.
• Foster a proactive culture of risk awareness, safety, and continuous improvement.

Lavalla Catholic College Catholic is a co-educational dual campus school located in Traralgon, within Latrobe Valley in beautiful Gippsland, and is 2 hours east of Melbourne, with the coast 1 hour south and the ski slopes under 2 hours to the north of the College.

About The Role

Lead Risk, Compliance, Governance, and Workplace Health and Safety across the College

Ongoing, Full-time position (Flexible conditions will be considered)

We are seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager to join Lavalla Catholic College in Traralgon, Victoria on an ongoing full-time basis, with flexible arrangements considered for the right applicant. The Risk and Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the College's risk management, compliance, policy governance, workplace health and safety, return to work and assurance frameworks.

The position provides strategic and operational advice to College leadership and supports the College to identify, assess and manage risks while maintaining compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, standards, Catholic education requirements, College policies and governance obligations in line with College’s governing body, Marist Schools Australia.

The position will promote a proactive culture of risk awareness, accountability, child safety, workplace safety, employee wellbeing and continuous improvement across the College.

Essential Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Role

• Relevant qualifications in risk and compliance management, business administration or management.
• Demonstrated experience in management-level development implementation and or maintenance of organisational compliance frameworks.
• Hold an employee Working with Children Check and National Police Record Check.
• Demonstrated experience in compliance, governance, risk, assurance, OHS and/or policy.
• Experience in a contemporary education environment.
• Experience as a Return-to-Work Coordinator within an Australian workplace.
