Job summary

DRD Group is seeking experienced Riggers - Intermediate & Advanced to join our client for an immediate start on a paste plant project at a gold mine. You will support crane operators and ensure safe lifting and material location during construction.

Candidates should have proven rigging and hoisting skills, ability to estimate weights, select appropriate slings and shackles, and perform safety inspections in line with OHS requirements. A pre-employment medical and drug test is required.

Qualifications

• Estimate weights and evaluate center-of-gravity for rigging selections.
• Ability to erect cranes, winches and temporary platforms.
• Guide crane operators using standard hand signals or radios.
• Inspect rigging gear and enforce OH&S rules on site.
• Dismantle lifting gear safely after work.

DRD Group is seeking experienced Riggers - Intermediate & Advanced with strong construction project experience to join our client for an immediate start.

You will be working on construction of a paste plant at a Gold mine, supporting crane operators for safe lifting and locating of materials for the construction.

You'll need experience in:

• Estimate weights, evaluate center-of-gravity, and select the correct slings, shackles, and chains
• Rigging & Hoisting: Erect cranes, winches, and temporary scaffolding platforms.
• Signalling: Guide crane operators using standard hand signals or radios during lifts.
• Safety & Inspection: Inspect all rigging equipment for wear or damage before and after use, and enforce occupational health and safety (OHS) rules.
• Dismantling: Take down lifting gear and temporary structures safely once work finishes.

Selected candidates will need to be available to complete a pre-employment medical and lab drug & alcohol test.
