Job summary

Skyline Hire is seeking experienced Riggers to support crane hire, rigging, lifting and site-based works across the East Coast of Australia. This role suits practical, safety-focused personnel who understand high-risk lifting activities and work well as part of a crane crew.

Permanent full-time position with exposure to construction, shutdown, maintenance and industrial works. You must be self-motivated and prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol

Qualifications

• Must have high risk work licence for rigging/dogging.
• Strong commitment to safety and following lift plans/SWMS.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in crane crews.

Responsibilities

• Perform rigging and lifting activities safely and per site requirements.
• Assist crane operators, supervisors and site teams with lift prep and execution.
• Inspect rigging gear, lifting equipment and work areas before use.
• Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks, lift planning and risk assessments.
• Follow SWMS, lift plans, client requirements and company procedures.
• Communicate clearly with crane operators, dogmen, riggers and supervisors.
• Identify hazards and escalate safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with mobilisation, demobilisation and general site tasks.
• Maintain good housekeeping and care of equipment.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Perform rigging and lifting activities safely and in accordance with site requirements

Assist crane operators, supervisors and site teams with lift preparation and execution

Inspect rigging gear, lifting equipment and work areas before use

Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks, lift planning and risk assessments

Follow SWMS, lift plans, client requirements and company procedures

Communicate clearly with crane operators, dogmen, riggers and supervisors

Identify hazards and escalated safety concerns promptly

Assist with mobilisation, demobilisation, loading, unloading and general site tasks

Maintain good housekeeping and care of equipment

Skills and Experience

Relevant High Risk Work Licence for rigging and/or dogging

Experience in crane, rigging, construction, shutdown or heavy industrial works

Strong understanding of safe lifting practices and high-risk work requirements

Ability to follow lift plans, SWMS and site instructions

Current Australian driver's licence preferred

Strong communication skills and a safety-first attitude

Ability to pass site medical, drug and alcohol screening and client mobilisation requirements

Intermediate or advanced rigging ticket

EWP, forklift, working at heights or confined space tickets

Experience with shutdowns, maintenance or heavy industrial projects
