Job summary

Wilmar Sugar & Renewables is seeking a hands-on Rigger/Scaffolder to support maintenance across our sugar factories in North Queensland. You will rig, lift, move heavy equipment and erect scaffolding to provide safe access for tradespeople and enhance maintenance activities.

The role operates in a heavy industrial environment, with opportunities to work around large fixed plant and machinery removals. HR and other competencies will be valued and training provided where needed.

Qualifications

Current High Risk Work Licences: Basic Rigging (RB) and Basic Scaffolding (SB).
Intermediate Rigging (RI) and Intermediate Scaffolding (SI) licences highly regarded.
Experience in sugar milling, heavy industry, mining, manufacturing or similar environments is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Rigging and lifting of heavy machinery and components during maintenance and operations.
Erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding for safe access by tradespeople.
Support machinery removals, installations, breakdowns, shutdowns and plant overhauls.
Inspect rigging gear, lifting equipment and scaffolding components and remove unsafe gear.
Maintain rigging and scaffolding equipment, including inspections and tagging.
Follow safe lifting practices, risk assessments, isolations and permits.
