Career Management Services is recruiting for a Return to Work Advisor to partner with internal career consultants, insurers, and employers. You will provide strategic claims advice, navigate multiple jurisdictions, and influence outcomes across a national portfolio.

As a Return to Work Advisor you will be partnering with internal career consultants, insurers, and employers providing them with strategic claims advice and recommendations to assist in improving outcomes and building collaboration and partnerships. Working across a national portfolio, you will get exposure to legislation across multiple jurisdictions, insurers and organisations and be comfortable working both at a strategic and operational level to make a real difference to everything you are involved in.
Advise on RTW strategies, case management approaches and improving outcomes working closely with insurers, employers and internal team
Make recommendations on claims management to internal career consultants, aligning strategies with the business and partnerships
Work closely with clients to identify suitable claims for referrals to assist in improving outcomes
Assess and identify suitable claims for referrals, the right claims at the right time
Develop a strong understanding of the team's capability, experience and industry expertise, to guide the management and coordination of claims allocation across the business
Ensure that the team are achieving their required KPIs and meeting the client's agreed SLAs
Work closely with the operations team in the monitoring of RTW outcomes, SLAs and internal team development
Liaise closely with key strategic partners in ensuring that agreed outcomes on pilots are achieved, by monitoring ongoing service delivery, key flags and outcomes
Run in-depth case reviews, portfolio reviews and claims audits to identify improvement opportunities
Mentor and upskill internal staff, and deliver training across the business
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in workers' compensation, CTP, personal injury or life insurance, most likely in a technical specialist, injury management advisor or lead case management role
Deep understanding of workers' compensation legislation in at least one jurisdiction
Relevant tertiary qualification in Injury Management, WHS, Rehabilitation or a related discipline highly regarded, but not essential given proven experience
Experience or track record running RTW programs or pilots, with the ability to evaluate and improve outcomes (preferred but not essential)
Solid understanding and experience in dealing with both physical and complex psychological claims
Strong stakeholder engagement, good negotiation and communication skills
Consultative style, able to build rapport and influence at all levels, with strong attention to detail in reporting
