Job summary

The St Vincent de Paul Society (NSW) is hiring for a casual Return and Earn Warehouse Team Member at Unanderra, NSW. You will operate a semi-automated sorting machine, assist customers, and use a POS system to process sales and refunds in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Qualifications

The Return and Earn bottle recycling facility in Unanderra is looking for casual team members. This hands-on role involves receiving recyclable drink containers from customers, operating a semi-automated sorting machine and troubleshooting equipment issues when required. You will also use a point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately process sales/refunds, where attention to detail and integrity are essential. Strong customer service skills, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, a solid work ethic and ability to perform well in a fast-paced workplace are key to success in this role.

On the job training in using specialised equipment will be provided. A current Forklift Licence is Desirable(Counter Balance). Experience or knowledge of working within a factory environment is also desirable or someone who is willing to work on their feet for a set period of time.

Your Responsibility

• Operate equipment used for bulk sorting of recyclable drink containers
• Use forklift to empty bins of sorted recyclable containers
• Operate point of sale system for accurate sales and refund transactions
• Assist in other activities i.e. housekeeping, maintenance of warehouse equipment, reporting faulty equipment needing repair, etc.

You Will Need

• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service
• Experience in using forklifts and a current valid Forklift Licence
• Experience working within a warehouse and/or production environmentCapacity to perform manual/physical tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and independently
• Thorough understanding of work, health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
