Job summary

BP Tanawha, located at Tanawha, QLD 4556, is seeking a full-time Retail Manager to lead day-to-day operations, staff, inventory and customer service at the BP Tanawha site. The role focuses on profitability, compliance with BP standards and delivering top-quality service.

You will oversee stock, pricing, promotions and reporting, while coordinating with suppliers and management. The position demands strong leadership and industry knowledge in fuel retail and convenience retailing.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Business, Retail Management, Commerce or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Up to three years of relevant experience in retail operations, retail supervision or management, preferably in fuel retailing, convenience stores or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, coordinate daily operations and manage competing priorities.
• Experience in inventory control, purchasing, merchandising, sales reporting and customer service.
• Sound understanding of retail financial procedures and operational compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of fuel retail operations, food safety and WHS requirements desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and oversee daily BP Tanawha operations across fuel outlet, convenience store, food and beverage.
• Develop procedures to improve store efficiency, customer service, sales and profitability.
• Recruit, train, supervise and roster staff, monitor attendance and performance.
• Maintain high customer service standards and promptly resolve inquiries and complaints.
• Manage stock purchasing, replenishment and supplier negotiations.
• Oversee pricing, merchandising, promotions and stock rotation per BP standards.
• Monitor sales and expenses; implement strategies to hit targets.
• Handle daily cash, POS, banking and expenditure controls.
• Prepare reports on sales, inventory and staffing for management.
