About the opportunity

As our Retail Customer Service Officer, you17ll play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience. Every year around one million customers walk into one of our Australia Post Offices. It17s our retail teams who make sure that every experience they have is a great one. And while they do, they17re supported by a welcoming team, take part in ongoing training, and are guided on career development opportunities.

  • This casual role commences on $35.01 / hour for approx. 3 months, increasing to $37.42/ hour + 12% Superannuation. (Junior rates apply to those under 21 during training).
  • Extensive, supportive (paid) training on commencement, Monday - Friday, for 12 weeks
  • This role will be “on call” casual after training, shifts will fall across Monday - Friday, between 8.45 am - 5.06 pm
  • As a relief position, shifts will be rostered at Cairns, Manunda, Bungalow & Earlville you will need to be available to travel to all locations

You'll be

  • Performing customer sales and service transactions with customers.
  • Managing high value transactions accurately (handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS).
  • Conducting and processing a number of identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews.
  • Promoting our products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and other promotional activities.
  • Assisting customers with mail lodgements and associate costs.
  • Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs.
  • Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.

  • Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift.
