Operating under the guidance of senior leadership, the role drives the execution of key initiatives across governance, risk assessment, due diligence, and reporting. This position plays a pivotal role in embedding modern slavery risk management into investment and procurement processes, supporting the fund’s duty to act in the best financial interests of members.

As a Responsible Investment Manager – Modern Slavery, you will play a critical role in enhancing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive modern slavery risk management framework to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018. You will strengthen governance structures and update policies and procedures to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate modern slavery risks across the fund’s investment and procurement activities. This includes conducting risk assessments and due diligence across the investment portfolio and supply chain, with a focus on high-risk sectors and entities, and engaging with investment managers, investee companies, and suppliers to address risks and implement corrective actions. In addition, you will prepare content for the annual Modern Slavery Statement and other disclosures, including internal reports, the annual report, and website updates, ensuring alignment with regulatory and stakeholder expectations. A key part of your role will be to continuously review and enhance modern slavery-related policies, tools, and processes in response to emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry best practices. You will also contribute to broader ESG-related activities and projects, supporting the integration of ESG considerations across the fund’s responsible investment strategy.

  • Direct experience in developing, and implementing modern slavery risk monitoring processes, documentation, reporting and investee company engagement for a large institutional investment portfolio.
  • Experienced in modern slavery supply chain risk analysis and data management tools.
  • A proven track record in mitigating and addressing modern slavery risk in institutional investment portfolios will be highly regarded.
