Job summary

MADEC is seeking a Residential Youth Coordinator to provide day-to-day operational leadership across our Mackay region residential services. You will oversee Team Leaders and Residential Youth Workers, promoting safe, trauma-informed care and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and MADEC policies.

As a visible and supportive leader, you will role-model values, build staff capability, and contribute to a positive, accountable team culture while supporting staff and young people through

Qualifications

• Qualifications: Diploma or higher in Child or Youth Services (or willingness to undertake).
• Residential Care Experience: minimum 2 years in residential care, with complex needs experience highly regarded.
• Leadership Capability: lead, support and develop teams, including supervision of Team Leaders and Residential Youth Workers.
• Compliance and Quality: understanding of compliance within residential care, Out of Home Care and MADEC policies.
• People Leadership: coach, develop staff and foster positive team culture.
• Child Safety Experience: experience with Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety is highly regarded.
• Licences: Queensland Driver Licence.
• Screening: Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and LCS2 screening.
• Availability: willing to participate in the residential services on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership across residential services.
• Oversee and support Team Leaders and Residential Youth Workers.
• Promote safeguarding, risk management and incident reporting across services.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements, standards and MADEC policies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Department representatives.
• Support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts.
• Lead trauma-informed, person-centred care across homes.
• Foster a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture.
