Job summary

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia is seeking a Residential Supervisor to join the NITA Team at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre. You will provide personal leadership to Indigenous trainees, focusing on their wellbeing, motivation and development.

You'll maintain a safe residential facility, design development programs and mentor trainees to complete their traineeship and pursue employment opportunities within the Indigenous tourism sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in boarding, dormitory or residential facilities.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture, challenges and aspirations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the residential facility to high safety and liveability standards.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Indigenous trainees, supporting health, hygiene, motivation and perseverance.
• Design and implement programs for personal and professional growth of trainees.
• Respond to incidents with proper processes.
• Build relationships with trainees, colleagues and community stakeholders.
