Job summary

Perilya Limited, a long-standing mining company in Broken Hill, NSW, seeks a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to lead the underground and light-vehicle mobile fleet. You will drive maintenance excellence, safety, and reliability while mentoring apprentices and tradespeople.

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will coordinate planned and breakdown work, manage labour and budgets, and collaborate with operations to ensure maximum equipment availability in a remote regional setting.

Qualifications

• Heavy Diesel Mechanical Trade Qualification (or equivalent) required.
• Current Manual Driver's Licence.
• Experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment in mining/heavy industry.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in underground mobile maintenance.
• Supervisory/coordination experience.
• Experience with maintenance management systems and planning processes.
• Exposure to condition monitoring and reliability improvement programs.
• Solid understanding of underground mining equipment and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a mobile maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance outcomes.
• Coordinate planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance across underground and light vehicle fleet.
• Allocate labour and resources to maximise equipment availability and meet operational priorities.
• Drive fleet reliability through effective maintenance execution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site standards, statutory requirements, and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance Planning, and other stakeholders to align maintenance activities with production requirements.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering accountability, teamwork and professional growth.
• Manage maintenance activities within approved budgets while maintaining high safety, reliability and performance.
