Job summary

MacKillop Family Services in Preston, VIC, is seeking a House Supervisor to oversee daily residential care for young people. You will supervise care workers and ensure a therapeutic approach within the Northern Residential Care Program.

The role requires a Bachelor Degree or Diploma plus four mandatory competencies, experience in behavioural management, teamwork, and sound judgment. Relevant clearances (WWCC, police check, NDIS) are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or Diploma with relevant experience; four mandatory competencies (top up units) required.
• Proven skills in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents.
• Ability to participate collaboratively within teams and demonstrate clear personal judgement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily care of clients by residential care workers within assigned unit.
• Ensure delivery of care within a therapeutic residential environment.
• Support the Residential Care Coordinator and contribute to program goals.

About The Role

MacKillop’s Out of Home Care (OOHC) programs provide residential care, home based care, lead tenant and case management support for young people with high and complex needs, as well as a therapeutically oriented program for young people in protective placements.

Our Residential Services offers accommodation and support to children and young people who are referred through the Child Protection system. The House Supervisor is responsible to oversee the daily care of clients provided by residential care workers within their allocated residential care unit. The House Supervisor is a part of the Out of Home Care Program and reports to the Residential Care Coordinator.

We are currently recruiting 2x Full-time opportunity based in Preston, VIC within our Northern Residential Care Program. The position reports to the Northern Residential Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria

• Relevant Bachelor Degree with experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units); or Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units).


• Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.


• Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.


• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.
