Job summary

BlueCare is seeking an experienced Wellness Partner to support residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing through engaging, person-centred programs at Kirra Haven Aged Care Facility - Coolangatta.

This permanent full-time role involves delivering wellness activities, building relationships with residents and families, and collaborating with the care team to enhance participation, independence and quality of life every day in a supportive not-for-profit environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent qualification.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Experience facilitating group and individual activities in aged care, community or disability settings.
• Understanding of person-centred practice, dementia care and cultural safety.
• Ability to adapt activities to support a range of physical and cognitive abilities.
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of infection control, manual handling and aged care quality standards.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and one-on-one wellness activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities
• Build positive relationships with residents through meaningful engagement and companionship
• Support residents' independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing
• Collaborate with the Wellness Lead, care teams, families and volunteers to deliver engaging programs
• Assist with wellness assessments, documentation and reporting changes in resident wellbeing
• Support volunteers to contribute confidently to resident activities and experiences
• Prepare and maintain safe, welcoming activity spaces and equipment
• Follow organisational policies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
