Job summary

A leading civil construction and transport logistics company in Queensland is seeking an experienced Resident Fitter. The role involves performing preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, diagnosing faults, and responding to breakdowns, supporting Central Queensland operations. The ideal candidate should have a recognised Plant and Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification and strong experience with equipment. This stable position offers autonomy, a company service truck, and the chance to work with a modern fleet.

Qualifications

• Strong experience working on transport and earthmoving equipment.
• Proven ability to fault find and work independently in the field.
• Current driver's licence (MR licence) required.
• White Card required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on mobile equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent repairs to minimise downtime.
• Work independently across site and depot environments.
• Identify defects and emerging maintenance issues early.
• Liaise closely with supervisors and operators.
