Job summary

Control Risks in Sydney is seeking a Researcher to join its Online Threat Intelligence team. You will conduct research on open sources and deep/dark web venues and produce bespoke written analysis for clients.

Based in Sydney, you will work with threat intelligence experts to identify threats, assess credibility, and deliver timely intelligence through well-structured reports and briefings.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of open-source intelligence collection and threat analysis.
• Ability to prepare written reports with strong attention to detail.
• Experience managing time efficiently to meet client deadlines.
• Experience directing, collecting and analysing information to produce timely and actionable intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual and automated searches to identify threats against clients and assess their credibility.

Role tasks and responsibilities

Research and production

• Conduct manual and automated searches to identify threats against our clients and assess their credibility.

• Research new sources of information and develop capabilities to collect and analyse information in support of the team's mission.

Consulting responsibilities

• Support in the review and delivery of written bespoke work.
• Communicate effectively to direct intelligence collection to support and enhance the quality of final deliverables.

Essential

• Practical knowledge of open-source intelligence collection and threat analysis. Ability to prepare written reports with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in managing time efficiently to successfully meet client deadlines.
• Experience in directing, collecting and analysing information, including following leads, in order to produce timely and actionable intelligence.

Preferred

• An understanding of the main themes in the online threat landscape.
