Job summary

The University of Sydney is offering a Research Fellow role within the Prevention Research Support Program, aimed at strengthening maternity and neonatal outcomes through quantitative health services research. The fellow will lead data analysis, stakeholder engagement and dissemination across partner institutions.

We seek an emerging researcher with a PhD, strong quantitative methods and a track record in grants, publications and research reporting.

Qualifications

  • A Doctorate or PhD and academic qualifications in a relevant field.
  • An emerging health service researcher with demonstrated understanding of health service research methodologies.
  • Emerging health service researcher with interest in maternal and child health research.
  • Higher degree focused on quantitative approaches to addressing health service research needs (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics).
  • Proven experience conducting original research and scholarly activity.
  • Developing research profile with a network of stakeholders.
  • Experience contributing to research projects, grants, publications, and reporting.
  • Strong quantitative research, data management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on research direction, methodologies, study design and compliance.
  • Coordinate data management processes, including analysis and reporting.
  • Lead and oversee production of research reports, publications and outputs.
  • Streamline administrative processes for research documentation and compliance.
  • Facilitate timely report submissions and maintain data integrity in Uni systems.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops and community engagement.
  • Support translation of findings into policy, practice and service improvement.
  • Maintain a research profile through scholarly outputs and networks.
  • Provide mentoring to junior researchers and students.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level.
