The University of Western Australia invites applications for an Ethics Officer to help enable responsible, high-quality research by supporting robust ethics review, governance and committee processes. You will coordinate secretariat tasks for the Research Ethics and Integrity team, review applications against a risk matrix, and provide clear guidance to researchers and committees.

This full-time ongoing role offers a pro-rata base salary with 17% superannuation, and a collaborative environment

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in life sciences or demonstrated equivalent competency.
• Substantial administrative experience guided by policy, standards or expertise; committee secretariat experience is a plus.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with sound judgement and discretion.
• Strong organisational and analytical abilities; prioritise, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
• Proficiency with common digital tools (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email) and problem solving in a team or independent setting.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate administrative, reporting and secretariat support for the Research Ethics and Integrity team and committees (agendas, minutes, actions, meetings, seminars, inspections).
• Review ethics applications against a risk matrix, progress with Chairs, and assist with higher-risk matters and adverse events.
• Provide clear, responsive advice to researchers and stakeholders while contributing to policy, procedures and service improvements.
