Help bring new ideas, research and expertise into one of Australia's most influential public institutions.

About the team

The Economic Research Department plays a central role in supporting the Bank's policy, research and analytical agenda. The department undertakes high-quality economic research, develops analytical capabilities and engages with leading academics, policymakers and institutions in Australia and internationally.

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and stakeholder-focused Research Engagement Programs Coordinator to support our growing program of visiting researchers, scholars and external engagement activities. Reporting to the Head of Department and working closely with the Executive Assistant and Economic Research staff, you will help deliver a high-quality visitor experience while supporting initiatives that enhance the visibility, impact and reach of the Bank's research.

The Research Engagement Programs Coordinator is responsible for the delivery and administration of Economic Research's visitor programs and supports a range of initiatives that strengthen the department's external engagement and research networks. An important part of the role is building trusted relationships and creating a positive experience for the people you work with. As a central point of contact for visiting researchers and internal stakeholders, you will bring a warm, responsive and service-oriented approach, helping to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and meaningful engagement between the Bank and the broader research community.

You will:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of visiting scholar, researcher and adviser programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for visitors, building positive relationships and delivering a welcoming, responsive and professional experience before, during and after their visit.
  • Manage program logistics, including travel, accommodation, schedules, stakeholder communications and documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and work with internal teams to support recruitment, contracting, legal, visa and administrative requirements.
  • Manage program budgets, procurement processes, invoices, reimbursements and expenditure tracking.
  • Support the planning and delivery of seminars, workshops, visiting lectures, conferences and other research engagement activities.
  • Work closely with Communications and internal stakeholders to promote and showcase the department's research activities and visitor programs.
  • Maintain program documentation, records and reporting to support effective program management and evaluation.
  • Coordinate travel and logistics associated with external engagement activities undertaken by Economic Research staff.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department's visitor and external engagement programs.
About you

You are highly organised, proactive and relationship-focused, with a strong service-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in creating positive experiences for others. You are approachable, responsive and comfortable engaging with people at different levels, and understand the importance of strong relationships, clear communication and thoughtful service in delivering successful programs. You enjoy working with a diverse range of stakeholders, take the time to understand their needs and build trust, and bring a positive and collaborative approach to your work. You combine strong coordination skills with sound judgement, professionalism and a willingness to help, while managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong stakeholder-focused approach, with a genuine commitment to building positive relationships and delivering high-quality experiences.
  • A proactive, responsive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to take ownership and help find solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Confidence working independently while managing a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Strong administrative, planning and coordination skills supported by a continuous improvement mindset.

Experience in program coordination, stakeholder engagement, research administration, event management, executive support, travel coordination or similar roles will be highly regarded. Experience in a research, academic, government, central banking, public policy or professional services environment is desirable but not essential.
