Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to an innovative project on scalable nonlinear analysis of large-scale structures. Based in Kensington, Sydney, you will work under Professor Chongmin Song and collaborate across disciplines to advance numerical simulation methods.

The role is full-time, fixed-term for 12 months, 35 hours per week, with a salary in the Level A range plus 17% superannuation. This is an Australia-based position with strong focus on academic research.

Qualifications

• A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
• Previous experience on developing numerical methods as evidenced by journal publications.
• Strong ability and skills in computer programming as demonstrated by PhD research and refereed journal publications.
• Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
• Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
