Job summary

UBS is seeking a Fixed Income Research Analyst to conduct in-depth credit analysis for APAC issuers and support global portfolio teams. The role involves monitoring data, producing investment ideas, and collaborating across the fixed income platform.

Based in Sydney, you will engage with analysts and PMs worldwide, embracing AI tools to enhance the research process and stay ahead in credit research. A background in asset management or investment banking with fixed income experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge and interest in financial markets.
• Experience at asset management firm or investment bank, preferably fixed income.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Self-starter and fast learner with ability to multitask.
• Willingness to embrace AI in research processes.
• Knowledge of statistical software (R, Python) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree; CFA progress is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed fundamental credit analysis of APAC financial and corporate issuers.
• Monitor economic, industry and company data, filings, transcripts, and quarterly results.
• Provide investment recommendations and credit updates to global teams and clients.
• Monitor portfolio holdings and generate trade ideas for implementation.
• Collaborate with analysts and PMs globally on investment ideas and relative value opportunities.
• Leverage AI to evolve the research process and outputs.
• Build relationships across UBS Asset Management and with sell-side analysts and company management.

The team

You’ll be working in the Fixed Income Research Team in Sydney. Singapore and Hong with a seasoned group of analysts. Our team is responsible for identifying well researched, original and actionable investment ideas. As a credit analyst, you will play a vital role in further enhancing our fixed income research capabilities.

Your Skills And Experience

• Solid knowledge and interest in financial markets
• Experience at asset management firm or investment bank, preferrable within fixed income
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbally and written
• Self-starter and fast learner
• Willingness to embrace AI
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, complete tasks independently, and manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines
• Knowledge and programming experience of statistical software applications (R, Python, etc.) a plus
• Bachelor’s degree, CFA (or progress towards) a plus
