The Toowoomba Chronicle is seeking an experienced Reporter with a strong news sense and the ability to drive a daily news agenda. You will be an aspiring, ambitious and experienced writer who is an organised self-starter with a knack for recognising and pursuing quality content that appeals to our audience and drives online engagement.

About The Role
  • Oversee and drive daily content for online and print
  • Manage news, event and content planning
  • Identify biggest stories of the day and drive through to publication
  • Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Lead journalists to drive subscriber growth and retention
  • Oversee the generation of engaging content and search for fresh stories that are not already breaking
Who are you?
  • An ambitious storyteller with exceptional news judgment
  • Multiple years of reporting experience
  • Solid digital and print experience and ability to drive audience growth
  • Experience overseeing the writing of quality content to tight deadlines is desired
  • You are a team player with excellent communication skills and knowledge of an extensive range of topics
