Job summary

Seven West Media is seeking reporters to join our South West team, based in Bunbury, delivering high-quality local stories that inform and engage communities along the coast and inland.

You’ll be part of a fast-paced, community-focused newsroom that oversees six mastheads: South Western Times, Bunbury Herald, Busselton-Dunsborough Times, Harvey-Waroona Reporter, Manjimup-Bridgetown Times and Augusta-Margaret River Times.

Qualifications

• Must have strong writing ability and engaging storytelling.
• Ability to spot newsworthy details and act quickly.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, accurate content that informs, entertains and engages audiences.
• Break news and develop relationships with key sources.
• Juggle multiple stories, deadlines and platforms; some weekend work and travel.
• Travel as required to cover stories and events.

Key Responsibilities

As a reporter you will have the chance to create high-quality, accurate content that informs, entertains and keeps our audience engaged. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, breaking news and developing relationships with key sources. Expect to juggle multiple stories, deadlines and platforms and be prepared for weekend work and the occasional travel.
