Overview

Create high quality content for multiple platforms. Base salary $77K-$94K plus 15.4% ABC Nominated Super. Tropical North QLD, Mackay location. Fixed Term Contract for approximately 8 months.

The Role

Prepare and present compelling content for ABC Tropical North, creating stories across multiple platforms that reflect a broad, cross section of the community.

The ABC is looking for a Reporter, Features to step up into a role for 8 months covering parental leave. Gain valuable experience in a stunning location and engage existing and emerging audiences with original storytelling.

The Job

  • Find and tell original stories from across the Tropical North region
  • Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences
  • Create high quality content that can be shared across the ABC nationally

You will possess strong content making skills and a proven ability to develop and make original and engaging audio and cross-platform content for the target audience. You are comfortable with and enjoy working in a small office. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • A natural curiosity and passion to find and tell stories that reflect Australia’s diversity and connect with the community
  • Great writing ability and accomplished editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise sound judgement

You will require a driver’s license for this position.
