Job summary

Sydney Tools Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Tool Repair Technician for our Principal Service Centre in Roselands. You will diagnose, service and repair a broad range of power tools, petrol-powered equipment and small engines, in a hands-on workshop.

The role is a permanent full-time position with regular hours from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, and no weekend work. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and fault-finding skills, with an emphasis on safety and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and complete repairs on power tools and petrol-powered equipment.
• Disassemble tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Repair and service small petrol engines and mechanical components.
• Use testing equipment to diagnose faults accurately.
• Refer to manuals and specs to identify replacement parts.
• Reassemble and test equipment to ensure repairs meet standards.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and job records.
• Complete repairs efficiently while upholding quality workmanship.

As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced Tool Repair Technician to join our Principal Service Centre in Roselands.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and fault-finding skills who is looking for a stable, permanent position within a growing Australian business.

About the Role:

Based at our Roselands Principal Service Centre, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a broad range of power tools, petrol-powered equipment and small engines.

This is a hands-on workshop position suited to someone who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and getting equipment back into working order.

Your regular hours will be 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend or public holiday work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose faults and complete repairs on power tools and petrol-powered equipment
• Disassemble tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults
• Repair and service small petrol engines and mechanical components
• Use testing equipment to accurately diagnose faults
• Refer to technical manuals and manufacturer specifications to identify replacement parts
• Reassemble and test equipment to ensure repairs meet required standards
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and job records
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

Skills & Experience:

We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience as a Tool Repair Technician, Service Technician, Small Engine Mechanic, Mechanical Technician or in a similar hands-on technical role.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing mechanical equipment
• Experience with power tools and/or petrol-powered equipment
• Exposure to equipment such as compressors, generators, motorcycle engines, small engines and 2-stroke / 4-stroke landscaping equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• A commitment to workplace safety
