A leading renewable energy company in Western Australia is seeking a skilled electrician for renewable energy installations, including solar PV systems. The ideal candidate will have completed an Electrical Apprenticeship and hold qualifications such as the 18th Edition I.E.E. and MCS Accreditation. This is a dynamic role requiring flexibility and a passion for sustainability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description
Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated electrician to work on renewable energy installations, including solar PV systems.

Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and commission domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Work with DC and AC circuits, inverters, isolators, and fault finding.
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring systems, data loggers, and apps.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely using appropriate safety devices and practices.
  • Carry out all aspects of electrical works.
  • Travel regionally or nationally depending on the role.
  • Work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends when required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Have completed a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship and/or appropriate full electrical qualifications (Essential).
  • Must hold 18th Edition I.E.E..
  • MCS Accreditation knowledge or experience (Microgeneration Certification Scheme).
  • Experience in solar PV or renewables (training available).
  • G98/G99 understanding (grid connection regulations).
  • Solar PV qualifications, including one of the following:
    • City & Guilds 2399 – Solar Photovoltaic Installation (now discontinued but still recognised)
    • LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar PV Systems
    • BPEC Solar PV Installer Course (essential)
    • ECS Gold Card – If you don’t have this certification, it must be obtained prior to start date
  • PAS 2030 familiarity (for roles involving retrofit or funded work).
  • Passion for sustainability and innovation.
  • A full UK driving licence with fewer than 7 points.
  • Own a full set of tools.
