Job summary

Mathspace is seeking an experienced primary mathematics educator to lead the creation of digital textbooks for the Victorian Curriculum K-6. This fully remote, 6–12 month contract focuses on curriculum alignment, rigorous quality, and leveraging AI tools to boost productivity.

You will oversee content development workflows, coordinate with the internal team, and ensure consistent pedagogical approaches and progression across materials. Australian state curriculum familiarity is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience teaching primary mathematics (K-6) in Victorian schools.
• Deep understanding of the Victorian Curriculum: Mathematics, including content descriptions, achievement standards, and proficiency strands.
• Familiarity with Victorian Curriculum 2.0 updates.
• Strong familiarity with current AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and enthusiasm to use them for productivity.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide clear, specific feedback on content.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of K-6 mathematics textbook content aligned to the Victorian Curriculum from planning through to completion.
• Oversee content creation workflows and coordinate with internal team members.
• Review content to ensure alignment with curriculum content descriptions, standards, and proficiency strands.
• Provide actionable feedback to enable precise edits and maintain quality standards.
• Champion the use of AI tools throughout the content development process to maximise productivity and quality.
• Identify opportunities to integrate new AI capabilities and improve team processes.
