Job summary

HARKE Recruitment is seeking an English teacher for a full-time, ongoing position in remote North West Queensland. The role covers English across secondary years, with emphasis on engaging programs and collaboration with colleagues to support student progress.

The package includes a salary range of $76,689 – $124,725 plus super, and approximately $14,000 in extra allowances in the first year. Furnished accommodation may be available at a discounted rate depending on availability.

Qualifications

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and relevant Queensland senior secondary requirements.
• Develop effective learning programs, assessments and classroom resources.
• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and classroom practice.
• Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support continued development.
• Communicate clearly with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment and moderation.
• Contribute positively to the wider life and community of the school.
