Job summary

SMEC Services Pty Limited seeks an Experienced Drainage Engineer to join its Rail team in Brisbane, delivering major rail infrastructure projects. You will provide technical drainage design input, coordination and project delivery across local and national scopes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in rail drainage design, strong communication, and proficiency with 12D/DRAINS, aligned to Australian standards. This role offers flexible working arrangements and strong career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified - Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering or similar).
• 5+ years industry experience in rail drainage design across transport infrastructure projects.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficient with 12D and DRAINS software.
• Familiar with Australian standards.

Responsibilities

• Providing support and proactively collaborating with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables.
• Providing expert advice and demonstrating advanced technical skills, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.
• Demonstrating a good level of project management skills while accomplishing project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner.
• Active contribution to the commercial success of projects and the team and contributing to successful business development.
