Job summary

SMEC is seeking an Engineer – Drainage & Flooding, Roads & Highways to join our Sydney team. This permanent role supports major infrastructure projects across NSW and nationally.

The candidate will focus on drainage design and flood modelling within a capable multidisciplinary group. With 2+ years’ Australian experience, you will bring knowledge of Austroads guidelines and 12d Dynamic Drainage, contributing to high‑quality deliverables while meeting deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Australian drainage design and stormwater management experience.
• Exposure to infrastructure projects (roads, highways, rail or urban development).
• Familiarity with Austroads Part 5, 5A & 5B and Australian Rainfall and Runoff guidelines (2019).
• Working knowledge of 12d Dynamic Drainage Analysis.
• Ability to contribute to technical deliverables and meet deadlines and budgets.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to learn from senior engineers.
