Job summary

Quality People on the Capricorn Coast, Queensland, urgently requires a Building Certifier for an 11 months+ contract. The role focuses on assessment and approval of building development applications for Class 1a and 10a, with QBCC Level 3 licence as minimum, and is remote-friendly.

Candidates will handle customer requests, provide technical advice, and may have local government experience. The assignment may extend beyond 11 months depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold QBCC Licence Level 3 (or higher).
• Thorough knowledge of Building Act, Queensland Development Code (QDC) and NCC.
• Ability to assess and determine building development and concurrence agency applications.
• Experience in processing compliance documentation and issuing final certificates.
• Strong skills in council administration, reporting, and official correspondence.
• Ability to provide specialist technical advice to public, council units and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess and approve building development applications for Class 1a and 10a structures.
• Provide building certification services in accordance with Queensland legislation and NCC.
• Address customer requests for technical guidance without on-site inspections.
• Prepare and issue final completion certificates where required.
• Deliver clear, professional advice to clients and stakeholders.
