Job summary

SA Health is seeking a part-time Rights of Private Practice Billing Officer to join a supportive finance team. Based in South Australia with hours negotiated, you will manage private practice billing and Medicare claims, contributing to accurate revenue services while supporting efficient health service operation.

You will work within a collaborative environment, developing specialist knowledge in healthcare finance and Medicare processes, and benefiting from ongoing learning opportunities,

Qualifications

• An organised and detail-oriented administration professional with experience in billing, finance, accounts receivable or healthcare administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately manage data, reconcile records and investigate discrepancies.
• A proactive team player who can build positive working relationships with clinicians, hospital staff, Medicare and other external stakeholders.
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent time management and is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage specialist billing, Medicare claims and third-party payments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with relevant requirements.
• Support private practice financial processes through reconciliations, reporting, receipting and the maintenance of billing and financial records.
• Liaise with clinicians, hospital administration teams and external agencies to resolve billing issues and ensure timely revenue collection.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining procedures, supporting reporting activities and helping to enhance the effectiveness of revenue services.
